Take things further
There is no rule that says a lateral extension return must stop at the edge of the house. This building projects a step further, allowing for a long run of units in the kitchen.

Improving simplicity
an extension in the back side and beyond the back wall of the house creates a light, open space inside . The main feature is an electric control, skylight completely. In a densely populated area, this intelligent feature allows a view of the sky beyond the neighboring properties and above the garden. Oversized sliding doors reinforce this view from the outside, too, and draw attention to the sky rather than the adjacent buildings.

This beautiful extension looks as if it has just been abandoned in place. It was formed by the rest of an oak ridge structure and skin, clad in zinc, on the party's brick wall. A comfortable seating area with sliding glazed away creates a space where owners can sit and feel surrounded by the garden.

Create some contrast
in this property, once a dark and narrow space was converted into a kitchen and family room light. It was created by widening laterally in the back side and backwards in an area previously occupied by an outside toilet. The monochrome palette in the new area of contrast with Edwardian house colors used in the original rooms. The extension is clad in black stained larch arranged to form ribbed velvet style ribs, while the floor is smooth and polished concrete.

Build it up
an extension of two floors which operates the back side adds a series of glass pieces and wood veneer on the back of this house. From the street, this is a typical period terrace, but from the garden, the architecture is contemporary, exciting and unique.
