Add a single but generous door
Although the idea of an extension of glass that can be opened expansive outside is attractive, the reality is that the British weather does not often facilitates this kind of life.
A smart alternative could be to opt for a sheet of glass, so much light enters the building, even a gray day, and then simply add a single but generous door to open the extension when the weather permits.
This high glass box has a double-height door that opens up the space vertically and looks stylish and exciting, too.

Be aware that when the pivot point is located in the middle of the door leaf, half will be projecting into the chamber when open, so this style may not suit an interior with a small footprint.
